The School places considerable importance on its role within the wider community and aims to provide all students with the support and opportunity to become involved in some way.

The School has a proactive charities committee which raises many thousands of pounds every year through a variety of initiatives.

During the Activities sessions, pupils from the School work with people from our community by providing support for the elderly, work in charities shops and conservation projects.

There is a primary school placement scheme where Sixth Form pupils work with younger pupils to provide them with additional support and opportunity in a number of subject areas that may not otherwise be covered in their curriculum. The Sports Leadership groups also work with a number of primary schools introducing the pupils to new sports skills. Furthermore, a number of our sixth formers independently work with youth groups and disabled children with the support of the Millennium Volunteer Scheme, a local charity.
